Twin Palms Resort began life in 1958 as the Brentwood Apartments, a deluxe apartment property in the neighborhood that would become known for some of Palm Springs’ most distinctive mid-century architecture. More than six decades later, those architectural roots remain very much part of the experience.

When the team behind Santiago Resort and Descanso Resort transformed the property into the 20-room Twin Palms Resort, they were careful to enhance rather than erase its original character. “Twin Palms is so amazing with its mid-century modern history,” General Manager Adam Q. The centerpiece is the courtyard, where the pool, 12-person spa, sun beds, and bright umbrellas sit against the San Jacinto Mountains. Many rooms open onto private patios, while spacious marble bathrooms and walk-in rain showers bring a contemporary touch. For Robinson, one of the best views is from the rooms overlooking the tiled spa wall, pool, and mountains. “It’s breathtaking,” he said.

Twin Palms is an adults-only resort for gay men, with swimsuits optional around the pool and spa. Complimentary breakfast and poolside lunch, a 24-hour canteen, bicycles, a communal fire pit, and EV charging add to the relaxed atmosphere.

The result is a 1958 Palm Springs property given a thoughtful second life while retaining the character that made it worth preserving.
