The Twin Palms Resort is what mid-century modern dreams are made of. The latest showstopper from the team behind the Santiago and Descanso resorts, Twin Palms is a 20-room men’s swimsuit-optional boutique hotel in the historic neighborhood of the same name. It first opened in 1959 as the deluxe Brentwood Apartments, and during recent renovations, the new owners were careful to ensure that the property’s details were enhanced, not erased. “Twin Palms is so amazing with its mid-century modern history,” General Manager Adam Q. Robinson said. “We kept true to the neighborhood architecture.” The centerpiece of the smoke-free property is the pool and courtyard area. The brand-new pool is heated in the winter and chilled in the summer, and guests can also relax in the 12-man spa. “The views are amazing,” Robinson said. His favorite sight is when he is in a room and can look out and see the beautiful tiled spa wall, with the pool and mountains in the distance. “It’s breathtaking,” he said. Speaking of the rooms, they are well-appointed with all the amenities necessary for a short visit or long stay. Most have private patios with those stellar mountain views, and all feature spacious bathrooms with marble showers. Additional perks include complimentary breakfast and boxed lunches served poolside; a canteen open 24 hours a day, stocked with water, sodas, coffee, and snacks; a clubhouse area perfect for lounging that opens up to the communal fire pit; and four electric car chargers. Above all else, the Twin Palms team is devoted to offering exceptional customer service, just like at its brother properties Santiago Resort and Descanso Resort. “I think we’re excited to show our loyal customer base another new experience to choose from in the desert; this is the newest gay hotel since the Descanso,” Robinson said. “We’ve tapped into a good thing and know how to do it, and we feel we do it right. I’m excited to lead Twin Palms in the same direction and hopefully exceed expectations.”
