Welcome to July in Palm Springs! As we move into the second half of the year, there is plenty to explore and enjoy. Independence Day celebrations, pool parties, art and food pairings, festivals, and more!
Let’s dive in!
4th of July Weekend Celebrations in Palm Springs

Everything you need to know about celebrating the 4th in Palm Springs
July 2: VillageFest, 7 to 10 p.m. Start your holiday weekend with the famous Palm Springs street fair. Enjoy live music, local art and artisans, and (my personal favorite) food! I’ve had my eye on these viral sushi tacos and sushi pizzas from Valley Fusions. Yum!
July 3: American Harmony at PS Underground, 7 to 9:30 p.m. If you have yet to experience a PS Underground event, let’s remedy that. Located at an often-overlooked locale behind Koffi South, the venue offers unique experiences. Every event blends live entertainment with a multi-course meal and free-flowing drinks. The tables are communal, making it a great place to gather or meet new friends. The menu is secret, amping up the mystery and intrigue. The theme on the third of this month is celebrating all things Americana, or opt for Soulful Sunday on the fifth.
July 3: Dive-In Movie at The Swim Center. Forget the drive-in, and dive-in! Open swim starts at 6 p.m., followed by a screening of the feature film The Sandlot at 7 p.m.
July 4: All-American Fourth of July Party, 3 to 10 p.m. Stay cool by the pool this Independence Day with a pool party at The Swim Center.
Palm Springs Power Baseball Game, 6 p.m. Sports isn’t often on the roundup of all things Palm Springs, but it’s the 4th of July and what is more American than going to a baseball game? Watch the Palm Springs Power take on the PSCL All Stars in the annual Independence Day event.
Concert in the Park, 7 p.m.. Head to Sunrise Park (480 Sunrise Way) and rock out as the sun sets with a free concert featuring Turn the Page, a Bob Seger Tribute Band.
Fireworks! Whether you are in the pool, the park, or the Palm Springs Power game, look up to enjoy the fabulous fireworks display that start promptly at 9:15 p.m. at the stadium. Happy 4th!
Fabulous food events

Enjoy every type of cuisine at Wanderlust Food Truck Festival.
Rest assured the party doesn’t end after Independence Day. For my fellow foodies, enjoy the following:
July 10: Communal Dinner with Chef Gabriel Woo, 5:30 p.m.. A curated pairing of art and food at Livs inside the Palm Springs Art Museum. Gabriel Woo is the renowned chef behind Bar Cecil and Beaton’s. The event begins with a welcoming drink and canapés, followed by a private tour of personally selected art pieces by Chef Woo. Returning to a communal table, guests will enjoy a four-course meal. Each dish is inspired by one of the works of art, making the evening a delicious masterpiece.
Saturdays: Wanderlust Food Truck Festival, 5 to 10 p.m. The popular food truck festival has landed in Palm Springs! Free to enter, free to park and over 20 food trucks to choose from with varying cuisines. There’s just no excuse not to go. There’s also open seating and family-friendly activities. The event proved popular in June. Given this is new to the desert, have a healthy dose of patience as organizers aim to address long lines and vendors adjust the amount of food necessary. My advice: Stay happy, hydrated, and sun protected.
Turn up the music!

July 16: Jueves de Drift. JDD is returning for the summer months, every third Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Drift Palm Springs. DJ tunes poolside, coupled with taco and drink specials, make for a fantastic summer evening. Free attendance with RSVP.
August 7-9 and 14-16: Splash House. Get a head start on your August plans because (yes!) Splash House has returned! The biggest Palm Springs pool party/music festival is almost upon us. While the official artists lineup has yet to be announced, expect to splash to the best of EDM — house, techno, disco, and more. The days are set across three venues: The Saguaro, The Renaissance, and the newly appointed Hilton (replacing the Riviera). Dry off and gather at the Air Museum for the after hours party, soaking in the day, dancing amongst aircraft, embraced by the San Jacinto mountains. A most blissful way to close out summer days.
Want to book the perfect boutique hotel for any of these events, and love a deal? Take advantage of these Summer Splash specials at our Palm Springs Preferred Small Hotels.
Until next time, have fun, stay hydrated, and soak in all the magnificence Palm Springs has to offer.
