Alcazar Palm Springs offers guests the quintessential Palm Springs experience. Warm and modern, the Alcazar describes itself as a “serene, peaceful oasis.” Open since 2011, the hotel’s 34 rooms and gathering areas are sleek and stylish. The outdoor space also dazzles — it boasts a salt water purified pool, cooling misters, garden courtyard, and fire and water walls. Two of Palm Springs’ most popular restaurants, Cheeky’s and Birba, are just steps away from the hotel, accessible through a walkway, and guests can borrow bikes and take them as far as they want to ride. “That’s the whole key,” general manager Robert Hunt said. “We are in the Uptown Design District, and instead of renting a car, you can walk to everything. You can go to Villagefest, restaurants, stores. There’s so much up here. People are really surprised by the location.” Because there aren’t too many rooms, guests quickly become familiar with the front desk, housekeeping, and their fellow travelers — in fact, friendships are formed and vacations are extended due to these new bonds. “We have people who say they’ve met a couple and they had dinner together and now they want to stay another night,” Robert said. “They mingle and get to know people. There’s something about this property. The main part is from 1929, and my feeling is there is definitely a good, positive energy here.”
About this property
Bring: your pajamas. Don’t miss: the complimentary espresso, coffee, and pastries from Cheeky’s. Alcazar Palm Springs opened in 2011, just north of downtown Palm Springs in the Uptown Design District. We’re a 34-room boutique hotel and we manage to stay cool, modern, and sleek despite Palm Springs’ often upwards of 90-degree heat. Sleep in with us and luxuriate in imported Italian linens. Enjoy private patios, mountain views, wireless internet, Townie Bikes, complimentary coffee and espresso, and fresh pastries from Cheeky’s. Did we mention that Cheeky’s and Birba are right next door, so we’ve got you covered for delicious meals, an outdoor cocktail lounge, and entertainment, too?
