Located in the quiet and sophisticated Old Las Palmas neighborhood, The Weekend can accommodate large groups, and is family and pet-friendly. All of the doors are painted a cheerful orange, and the suites have kitchens that are fully-stocked — there are full-sized refrigerators, microwaves, sinks, Keurig coffee makers, toasters, dishes, utensils, and glasses. The walls are adorned with Slim Aarons photography, and there are three smart TVs in every suite. In the bathrooms, there are rain shower heads and L’Occitane toiletries. Each suite has a private patio, complete with loungers, and some with swinging basket chairs. The hotel surrounds a pool, which is heated and lights up at night, giving a beautiful glow. There are speakers hidden in planters, and in the morning, the sounds of Frank Sinatra usually fill the air, transitioning to chill electronica as the day goes on. “What people really love is the space and the attention to detail,” Mark says. Mark has lived in Palm Springs for nearly a decade. Before becoming a hotelier, he was an account executive in Santa Barbara. He knows why guests enjoy coming to Palm Springs — the weather, the activities, the restaurants — and there’s one thing they always say to Mark upon check-out: “We’ll be back.” As for Mark, his favorite thing about Palm Springs is that it’s “an international city, where you can participate and create a fun, mid-century getaway.”
