About Us
Palm Springs is home to 80 extraordinary small boutique hotels of exceptional architectural and cultural diversity. From quaint inns and quietly secluded bungalows to hip and modern poolside hangouts, they cater to the spectrum of Palm Springs travelers’ tastes.
Palm Springs Preferred Small Hotels (PSPSH) is an association of all the boutique hotels with fewer than 50 rooms that are located within the city limits of Palm Springs. The purpose of PSPSH is to serve as an economic driver and to create awareness of the uniqueness of boutique hotels, which are an essential part of Palm Springs’ unique culture and economy.
A convenient portal allows potential guests to explore hotel amenities, architectural styles, and vibes, then book directly with them at no charge to either the hotel or the guest. It publishes a monthly newsletter and ongoing blog, Boutiquely Palm Springs, which serves as an insider’s guide to all that is quirky and desirable about Palm Springs and its boutique hotels.
For Hoteliers…
PSPSH is formally known as the Palm Springs Small Hotel Tourism Business Improvement District Advisory Board. It was established in 2016 as a TBID through a series of Town Hall meetings by local small hotel owners and managers in partnership with the City of Palm Springs.
The PSPSH operating committee is composed of hotel owners and managers and most are also members of Small Hotels Palm Springs (SHoPS) and/or the Desert Gay Tourism Guild (DGTG). The committee operates as a “quasi” commission, with meetings that are open to interested members of the public under the Brown Act. It is funded by a 1% TOT assessment levied upon each hotel and motel business.
PSPSH works closely with the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism and the Greater Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau.
