Ingleside Estate
P: 800-722-6655
200 W. Ramon Road, Palm Springs, CA 92264
Fashioned from a gracious estate, The Ingleside Estate is an official Palm Springs Historic Landmark.
The inn is quiet and secluded but within one block of the heart of Palm Springs. Five minutes to shopping, the Palm Springs Convention Center, Palm Springs Art Museum, and Palm Springs International Airport. The 30-room, two-acre property offers luxury lodging and suite accommodations that recall the romance and glamour of the golden age of Hollywood. Unwind by the pool, enjoy fine dining at the world famous Melvyn’s Restaurant, and rest in timeless luxury.
Ruth Hardy originally purchased the property as her private residence in the 1930s. One of her passions was playing hostess to film stars and celebrities. Unlike other popular resorts, reservations were not taken. One could only stay if personally invited by Ms. Hardy. Her list of guests included the likes of Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and Howard Hughes. Unfortunately, after her death the inn fell into disrepair.
In 1975, after only 15 minutes of looking at the property, Melvyn Haber, a celebrity in his own right, purchased the inn. After spending a small fortune restoring the hotel, he reopened its doors to all guests, famous and not so famous. You can enjoy this well-documented adventure by reading his entertaining book, Bedside Stories From The Ingleside Inn, available for purchase at the property.
Great for the executive retreat or romantic escape, this legendary boutique hotel is a place to relax, refresh, and re-energize. Famous as a hideaway for the celebrities of show business, finance and politics, this landmark inn would be honored to add your name to its guestbook.
