In a city the embraces the past, Arrive is all about the here and now. The 32-room boutique hotel opened in 2016, and has a decidedly modern way of doing things. Guests communicate with staff via text messaging, and check-in is at the bar. Designed by co-founder Chris Pardo, Arrive is a blend of rusted steel, wood, and concrete, with bold colors and patterns. All materials used are appropriate for the desert, as the hotel was built with energy-efficiency and sustainability in mind, and butterfly roofs allow an abundance of natural light to enter. “The feedback from guests has been very positive,” CEO Matt Steinberg said. “They have been especially excited about some of our non-traditional approaches to hospitality, like our use of text messaging to communicate with guests, our lack of resort fees, and our complimentary welcome cocktails.” Each guest room has a king-sized bed, rain shower, and Apple TV. Some accommodations also come with private patios, ModFire fireplaces, and succulent gardens. The pool, with its private cabanas, fire pits and lounge seating, is a popular spot — during the summer, it’s also where you can check out the Dive-In Movie Series, watching your favorite flicks while floating in the water, or attend a weekly pool party. When you’re ready to dry off, there’s a bocce court and ping pong tables ready and waiting. “Arrive has set itself apart by opening its common spaces, including the pool, to its neighbors and local Palm Springs community,” Steinberg said. “This has turned Arrive into a crossroads where travelers and locals interact, have fun, and learn about what makes Palm Springs special.”
